About this concert

Betty Yimeng Teng, a junior at Mira Loma High School, is organizing this piano concert, called “Clawssical Music Concert”, which is going to be held at Folsom Lake College Three Stages from 7 to 8:30pm on June 15th.

The goal for this concert is to raise money for a local animal shelter, Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary, and for the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. At the same time, this concert will

  • Drive more children/students to become involved with community services
  • Provide local children/students the  joyous experience to enjoy music and love animals
  • Increase the awareness of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and local businesses among local children/students/parents
  • Financially support local community/NGOs

As for Betty herself, she has learned piano for about thirteen years and earned many awards, including more than 10 first place prizes and two scholarships. She believes that music can benefit people, and she has performed for seniors at Eskaton in Cameron Park and Park Folsom Senior Retirement Community. She also loves animals very much and she has donated her scholarships from past piano competitions to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary four times in the past four years. To do even more to aid the animals, Betty, together with a team of volunteer performers, will hold the “Clawssical Music Concert” this June.

Betty is working with the volunteer team, NGOs, and Sponsors to try to make this concert an annual event for Sacramento region.
